hello! thanks for your interest in booking my studio. we are (primarily) a rehearsal studio for classical-ish music.
the room
the room is about 24′ x 24′, though the usable area is smaller than that since much of that is taken up by furniture, shelving and instruments. as of oct 2024, we have these items for public use:
- Steinbach Baby Grand Piano
- Bechstein Grand Piano
- Stuyvesant Baby Grand Piano (older, worse quality)
- a basic sound system
- two Behringer Eurolive “Monitors”
- XLR cables, mic stands
- a variety of power extension cables, surge protectors, power strips
- 5 “orchestra” chairs
- 17 music stands
- 25 folding chairs (audience)
Other instruments/gear may be available on request, potentially with an additional fee.
booking
to book a time, check the calendar here. essentially any spot that’s not already booked should be available.
rehearsal/recording
rates are as follows:
$35/hr for solo/small ensembles (1-4 people)
$50/hr for medium ensembles (5-8 people)
$75/hr for large ensembles (9+ people)
events
rasp.la is not a “public events” venue. this means that any event held at the studio is a “private event” and as such, needs to follow several rules:
- I do not sell tickets for you, and am not involved with the sale of tickets
- I need a list of RSVP’d guests
in general, you should be treating events held here as you would a diy / house show.
i typically charge $200 for an event “day” rate, which usually means an ~8pm concert and a few hours of soundcheck time, pending availability.
